hyphen-en-us software package provides English (US) hyphenation patterns, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hyphen-en-us
hyphen-en-us is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hyphen-en-us package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hyphen-en-us *
You will get with hyphen-en-us package name, version, architecture and description in a table
